This requires an analysis of ways to empower employees in a healthcare organization. In a healthcare organization it is critically important to engage and empower all stakeholders. Healthcare, as an industry, is always in a state of flux so leaders must empower employees to adapt to these changes while continuously providing a quality product.

For this assignment, write a narrative essay (minimum 1500 words) in which you address and discuss the questions and statements listed below. Use at least four scholarly sources and remember to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the READ and ATTEND sections in your essay. Cite your sources in APA format.

Using APA format and at least four APA formatted references and citations that are no more than 5 years old:

Read the Discussion Assignment 8-1 on p.175 of the text Lack of Management Commitment. Select a health care entity to focus on, this could be a clinic or hospital of your choosing. Apply the case study of the lack of commitment to your selected health care entity and answer the following questions:

1. If you were the quality office of a health care entity and the employee empowerment effort had been your idea, how would you have gained a commitment to it from the new management team?

2. Management’s role in empowerment is best described as commitment, leadership, and facilitation. The kinds of support managers can provide include having a supportive attitude, role modeling, training, facilitating, employing MBWA, taking quick action on recommendations, and recognizing the accomplishments of employees.

In your experience as a health care leader, you witness more discussing of empowerment than actually ensuring it occurs. What are your next steps?

3. A workforce that is ready for empowerment is accustomed to critical thinking, understands the decision-making process, and knows where it fits into the big picture. As CEO of a health care firm, how do you ensure employees understand the decision-making process and where decisions fit in the big picture?
