An article from the national budget office estimate that the United States has 23 trillion deficit which is known as the national debt. Considering all the controversies surrounding this issue, it is crucial to evaluate strategies that the federal government could implement to address the national debt.

Some of the strategies that the federal government could implement to reduce the national would affect sector from low and high incomes. Some scholars believe that economic growth can be very efficient in addressing the issues of debt deficit because as individual’s income increases so do their tax responsibilities (The Congressional Budget Office). While some believe this tactic would be efficient, others believe that due to increased personal debt burden, even though individual’s income increase, their obligations increased as well with the additional income. Another proposition is to reduce the cost of entitlement programs such as Medicaid, food stamp etc. While there are individuals who benefit from these people, others who can work should not be recipient of these programs which is only increasing the national burden of the deferral government. Other strategies can be centered around the federal government increasing taxes for corporations, social security recipients, foreign income and cutting expenses in certain areas such as eliminating deductions. By reducing deductions for personal, corporate and students the government would save so much money to operate within its means and even pay toward the cumulative national debt that we all hope one day disappear.

From a Public Administrator perspective, it is conclusive to say that the debt will indeed not disappear but effective policy making and implementation can improve efficiency of the federal government and address the national debt issue at large.

The project pertains to the improvement of operations and safety of the John Young parkway & Pleasant hill road intersection. This intersection contains critical traffic volume with constant congestion and the access for the Oaks community residents is unsafe. Currently their are over 2,000 vehicles per hour turning left from the US 17/92 to southbound pleasant hill road. This is over 200% of the hourly capacity of the existing laneage and signal phasing. It is estimated that in the years to come without the improvements their will be close to 2,500 vehicles per hour turning left from US 17/92 to southbound pleasant hill road, which will increase the hourly capacity of the existing laneage and signal phasing to 260%.

The proposed improvement is to construct a new road to connect Fern drive and existing Oaks Boulevard median opening. Each alternative will provide laneage and signal phasing so that the volume will not exceed capacity and improving the congestion and safety of the John Young Parkway and Pleasant Hill road intersection.

This project is framed in the term of Stewardship which display the careful management of resources. These improvements will maintain adjacent business access and site circulation. Ease of access and travel direction opportunities for Oaks neighborhood residents. Provides multi-modal access. Increases pedestrian safety and accessibility by allowing crosswalks, to include increasing bicyclists safety in eliminating potential conflicts. There are many enhances of access and safety with this project. Here is the reporting for this project ===> Link (Links to an external site.)
